When you volunteer with Alzheimer’s Buddies, you join an intergenerational response against the social isolation imposed by Alzheimer’s.

National Alzheimer’s Buddies (NAB) is a nonprofit built to empower you and your local chapter to lead the movement in your community. By pairing student volunteers 1-to-1 with dementia residents, an Alzheimer’s Buddies chapter not only offers volunteers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Alzheimer’s residents and their families, but also to develop a stronger understanding of personal identity, build new social skills, make new friends, and spearhead impactful change.

Family Letter Permission

At the end of the semester, volunteers write a one page family letter highlighting their experiences with their buddy throughout the semester. This letter is shared with the loved ones of your buddy. These letters provide key insights into the relationships built through Alzheimer’s Buddies, making them critically important to making educational, promotional, and other types of materials.

Journal Entries

Beginning in January 2020, your journal entries will be entered on the National Alzheimer's Buddies website. Your chapter directors as well as the NAB executive board will have access to your entries. Similar to the family letters, these entries provide key insights into the relationships built through Alzheimer's Buddies, making them critically important to making educational, promotional, and other types of materials.

Photo Permission

I give my permission for all still and moving images taken or recorded by or on behalf of National Alzheimer’s Buddies or made available to National Alzheimer’s Buddies of me to be used in any or all of the promotional and advertising material of National Alzheimer’s Buddies; and/or provided to any third party, including but not limited to media organizations, government bodies, not-for-profit organizations and National Alzheimer’s Buddies partners, for their use as they see fit.
